Gokyo valley trek is considered as a traditional trek that offers grand views of the mountain peaks and the Ngozumpa Glacier which is the largest in Nepal’s Himalayas. The view of this region is correlated with the soaring views of the most famous mountains in Nepal, at an altitude of 8,000 m such as Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Everest, and Makalu which can distinctly be seen from Gokyo Ri above Gokyo Lake. One of the most extraordinary features of the great ice moraine between Cho Oyu and Gyachung, located in the Khumbu region.
After a 35 minutes scenic flight from Kathmandu landing at Lukla’s tiny airstrip, the adventure will begin. We will spend the next few days trekking and socializing amongst the mountain people also known as Sherpas, we will stay at local lodges and trek into the heartland of their villages. Everything will be organized in association with local Sherpa guides. We will pass Buddhist monasteries along with the views of Everest and other snow-peaked mountains which get closer by the day. We will rest one day in the villages of Namche bazaar in order to explore the region and to acclimatize, which is very crucial. After trekking to Gokyo Ri (5,483 m), we will return at a comfortable pace back to Namche and Lukla for our flight back to Kathmandu.
