Trip Information:

This excellent classic Everest base camp trek, which chases the footsteps of the most advanced climbers and trekkers, does not have the internal flights. It is an ideal fit for those who want to dodge the famous Lukla flights. Since no flights are involved and a jeep drive is taken, we do not have to bother about the sudden bad weather which usually hinders the Lukla flights. As we start the trek from lower altitude we will have many days before we reach the Everest Base Camp, this trek will be almost guaranteed from the acclimatization viewpoint.

We will start the trip from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, in a jeep that goes through various highways and the last one being the Everest Highway which joins to Chaurikharka village, just a little ahead of Lukla. Our first stop will be at Salleri. From here, we will take a drive into a dirt road until Nunthala; and from this point, we will start our trek to Everest. In this multi-day famous Everest base camp trek, we will pass through Namche Bazaar (the Sherpa capital), Tengboche Monastery (the largest in the region), Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorakshep and finally reach Everest Base Camp. This is the closest we will get to Mt Everest without mountaineering supplies. There is an elective hike to Kala Patthar, the highest apex of the trek. And then it is a descending trek all the way to Nunthala and a long journey back to Kathmandu.

Day 1Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport

Firstly, on arriving in Kathmandu, our representative will pick you up from the airport. He/She will be holding up the signboard outside the airport terminal. You will then directly be escorted to your hotel. You can visit our office to get more information about the trek. In case you happen to arrive after 4 pm, you will be briefed about the trip by our authorized guide. You will be provided with our trek duffel bag and cap. Please make sure to carry along your passport, 3 copies of passport-sized photos and a readable copy of your travel insurance policy. Also, make sure to clear any due balance and then sign on the legally binding trip form as well as the non-liability disclaimer form. You can stroll around the city in the evening. Stay overnight at the Hotel. No meals are included.

Day 2Drive from Kathmandu to Salleri (2300 m) by Jeep - 11 hours

We will start the jeep drive to Salleri early in the morning after you consume your warm breakfast. It will take us around 11 hours or longer depending on the road traffic. The road is recently constructed and will be connected up until Chaurikharka and called the Everest Highway. On our long-drawn drive through the Himalayan foothills, we will be greeted with splendid views. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 3Drive to Nunthala (2,440 m) - 1 hr and Trek to Paiyun (2,760 m) - 7 hrs

We will drive to Nunthala(2440 m) which takes around 1 hour and then trek towards Paiyun (2760 m) which will take around 7 hours. Expect a bumpy ride as the roads arent like in the city. We might even have to walk at certain places to get to Nunthala. From Nunthala, Paiyun is a seven-hour walk. We will explore the Dush Koshi River and are expected to see mountain peaks such as Numbur, Pikey, on the way. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 4Trek to Phakding (2,610 m) - 6 hrs

The next morning, we will be descending down to Surkhe village, which is an hour or so behind Lukla. From Surkhe, we will follow a twisting trail and arrive at Choplung. This is the point where the route from Lukla meets the main Everest Base Camp trail. After several hours of continuous walking, we will reach our destination village of Phakding. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

Day 5Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m) - 5.5 hours

We will recommence trekking along the banks of the Dudh Kosi, and cross this majestic river many times on thrilling suspension bridges weighted with prayer flags. After accessing the Sagamartha National Park, the trail escalates steeply with awe-inspiring views. Namche Bazaar, also known as the Gateway to Everest, is a dwelling to numerous quality restaurants, hotels, lodges, shops, money exchanges, Internet cafes, and bakeries. Namche is the most populous village along the entire Everest trail. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 6Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar

We will spend a day in Namche Bazaar to adjust to the thinning air and get acclimatized to the weather conditions. We will hike a short distance to a museum that is glorified for its displays of the folkloric customs of the Sherpa people. We will also hike up the Syangboche Airport near the Everest View Hotel. From this point, we can see gratifying views of the Himalayas with breathtaking sunrise and sunset over the prospect of Khumbu peaks. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 7Trek to Tengboche (3,860 m) - 5 hours

The trek will extend along the running glacial waters of the Dudh Kosi with glittering views of the mountains. By then, we will have trekked to an elevation of 3,860 m upon reaching Tengboche. Inside the monastery are astonishingly embellished wall hangings, a 20-foot sculpture of Buddha, and the musical instruments and robes of the Lamas. The group will be taken to observe a prayer ceremony either in the evening or in the morning depending on how the trekking goes on this day. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 8Trek to Dingboche (4,350 m) - 5 hours

We will begin walking to Dingboche after a warm meal. From Tengboche, the path drops to Debuche crossing another thrilling suspension bridge on the Imja Khola and climbs to Pangboche amongst thousands of mani stones. Our uphill trek will continue, taking us to the quaint traditional Sherpa village of Dingboche with its impeccable views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam. We will take our time to rest, so we can avoid getting affected by the altitude. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 9Acclimatization Hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083 m) - 4 hours

This day is planned as an acclimatization day. We will not be making any progress towards Everest Base Camp. Rather, we will take a hike to the Nangkartshang peak just over Dingboche. The peak is an extraordinary viewpoint; particularly of the gorgeous Ama Dablam. If the weather is clear, we will get to behold Ama Dablam from its summit to its feet. You can spend the afternoon strolling around the village familiarizing with the locals around or resting. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 10Trek to Lobuche (4,910 m) - 5 hours

Today, the trail will stretch along the sidelong moraine of the Khumbu Glacier and pass by stone memorials for climbers who have perished on nearby summits. We will continue to climb as we head to the village of Lobuche which is located at the foot of the enormous Lobuche peak. Some breathing difficulties may arise today due to the altitude. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 11Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,365 m) and then back to Gorak Shep (5,180 m) - 8 hours

This is will be a long and challenging day walking along the Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base Camp at 5,365 m, the closest you will get to Mt. Everest without mountaineering equipment. During spring, there will likely be expedition teams about to strive for the summit. The appearance of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp is sensational. We will return back to Gorak Shep for the night. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Days 12Morning Hike Up to Kala Patthar (5,555 m) & Descend to Pheriche (4,200 m) - 7 hours

This will be one of the most stressful yet satisfying days of the trek. Most of the morning will be spent climbing Mt. Kala Patthar, a small peak at an altitude of 5,555 m. The ascension is demanding but the climber will get a magnanimous mountain panorama: Everest, the highest point on the planet at 8,848 m, pillars directly ahead and on all sides approach the giants such as Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse and innumerable others. We will make an instantaneous descent to Gorak Shep and have a warm satisfying breakfast, and then trek down to Pheriche. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 13Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m) - 7 hours

Early morning breakfast and then we will leave the mountains behind us. Our path will take us through Pangboche and Tengboche before advancing to the town of Namche Bazaar. We will arrive back to Namche in the afternoon. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 14Trek to Lukla (2,804 m) - 6 hours

Initially, we will step down the last part which we ascended so hard on the day when we reached Namche Bazaar on the way up. Next, it is an easy stride to Phakding where we will be having our lunch. From this point, the trail slowly climbs towards Lukla. It is the gateway to Everest for those who choose to take flights. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 15Trek to Khari Khola (2,020 m) - 6 hrs

We will begin today’s hike by descending down to Surkhe. After Surkhe, the trail will go pretty steep up to Cheubas. We will walk somewhat upwards for some time and then we will take a downhill trail to our destination village of Khari Khola. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 16Trek to Nunthala (2,440 m) - 7 hrs

After a warm breakfast, we will take a trail down to Tubing. We will pass through Junbesi and reach the Dudh Koshi River. Then, from here onwards, we will make an uphill walk to Nunthala. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 17Drive to Kathmandu (1,400 m) - 13 hrs

We will take a jeep for our continued drive to Kathmandu. The road isn’t exactly in good condition. it is a rough ride in several places, so be prepared to be bouncing in your seats. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast and lunch are included.
