The 16-day trip combines sightseeing two cities of Nepal and trekking the high-altitude, Annapurna massifs. The trip begins from Kathmandu, the capital city where the day will be spent exploring its world heritage sites: Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Bhaktapur Durbar Square, which are listed on UNESCO’s world heritage sites.
Then, we will take a tourist bus to Pokhara, the city of lakes and every trekker’s come-to hub.
The next day, we will begin the Annapurna base camp trek which starts from Nayapul to Poon Hill. This spot offers the most majestic views of the Annapurna ranges. Then, we will ascend towards Annapurna base camp with the scenic company of mountains and the divine Himalayas. We will return back the same route and stop at Jhinu to explore the natural hot spring.
On returning to Pokhara, we will go for boating activity in Fewa Lake and spend the entire day roaming around the city’s attractions. Farewell dinner at the traditional Nepali restaurant with a cultural dance program will be organized before returning to Kathmandu.
Day1Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport
Firstly, on arriving in Kathmandu, our representative will pick you up from the airport. He/She will be holding up the signboard outside the airport terminal. You will then be escorted to your hotel. You can visit our office to get more information about the trek. In case you happen to arrive after 4 pm, you will be briefed about the trip by our authorized guide. Please make sure to carry along your passport, 3 copies of passport-sized photos and a readable copy of your travel insurance policy. Also, make sure to clear any due balance and then sign on the legally binding trip form as well as the non-liability disclaimer form. You can stroll around the city in the evening. Stay overnight at the Hotel. No meals are included.
Day 2Tour around the valley
Bhaktapur – Bhaktapur is culturally and historically famous city. Pagoda style five-storied temple; Nyatapola, Batsala temple, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Bhairavnath temple, Duttatraya temple, 55 windows Palace, and Pujari Muth are some of the major attractions. Pashupatinath Temple is the sacred temple located on the bank of the holy Bagmati river. Although one cannot enter the main temple unless they are Hindus, you can see the temple and observe the activities performed from the eastern Bagmati River. Boudhanath Stupa is the biggest and holiest stupa built in the 5th century. You will find Buddhists pilgrims from all over the world especially Tibet, taking rounds of the stupa and spinning the prayer wheels. Then we can go for further exploration around the Thamel and shop for the next day’s trekking gears Stay overnight at the hotel. Breakfast included.
Day 3Drive to Pokhara
The next morning, our trekking will pick you up from the hotel at 6.30 am and drop you at the bus station. We will take a tourist bus to Pokhara at around 7.30 am (7 hours ) and explore the outskirts of the beautiful lake city. We will be driving along the Trishuli and Marsyandi River so one can expect to get an elegant view of the river banks. This will give you an immense opportunity to observe the green lush side of Nepal and enjoy the views of Macchapuchhre and Annapurna in the north, as we move further away from Kathmandu. On reaching, you will spend the night at the hotel. Breakfast is included.
Day 4Pokhara to Nayapul and Trek to Tikhedunga
We will begin our trek from Nayapul after an hour-long drive on a private vehicle from Pokhara. After a short 15-minute walk along the banks of the Modi Khola, we will reach Birethanti (1,015 m), a huge village with several shops and teahouses. From there, we will continue through the village and follow the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola. The trail escalates firmly up the side of the valley to Hille at an altitude of 1,495 m. After a short ascent, we will reach Tikhedhunga at an altitude of 1,570 m. The walk is supposed to be short and easy today, preparation for trekking experience in the Annapurna region. Stay at the guesthouse overnight. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
Day 5Trek to Ghorepani
After breakfast, we will continue our trek to Ghorepani (2840m) - it takes about 5 hours. Throughout you will discover small but spectacular waterfalls, fine bridges, forests of oak and rhododendrons and children walking to schools. Then we will trek towards Nangethanti (2460 m) from where Ghorepani is just an hour's walk away. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
Day 6Trek to Poon Hill and Tadapani
Then early in the morning we will continue our trek to Poon hill (3210m). A few hours of a steep climb will offer an awestruck view of the pastel sunrise. We will spend one-hour and then return to Ghorepani where we will have a warm breakfast. We will ascend along the ridges and walk along with pine and rhododendron forests on our way to Deurali (2960 m). Then we will take a descending route to Banthanti and stop at Tadapani. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
Day 7Trek to Chomrong
We will start our trek early in the morning with downhill through rhododendron forests and then reach Gurjung, the village of Gurung people. After several zigzag trails and forests of oak and rhododendron, we will reach Chomrong, a village rich in agriculture which covers the entire hill (2140m) - it will take about 5 hours. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
Day 8Trek to Dovan (2600 m) - 6 hours
The path will drop down to the Chomrong Khola and we will resume the climb to Khuldighar at 2,380 m where once used to be an ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area) check post. There is a clearing in the forest a little further on, from which, the course travels very steeply down a rock, then levels out, running through hedges of bamboo below the canyon, keeping always on the west side of the river. We will continue the trek passing through bamboo, climbing up the steep staircases to Dovan. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
Day 9Dovan to Deurali (3200 m) - 4 hours
We will trek up alongside Modi Khola to Himalaya Hotel (2,920 m) while passing through forests filled with rhododendron. We will take a lunch break on the way before we head Hinku Cave which used to be a milestone for the earlier Annapurna I expeditions as it was utilized as a camp and a supply depot. We will walk ascending through the jungle trail to reach Deurali (3,200 m). Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
Day 10Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130 m) - 7 hours
Early morning we will continue our trek climbing on past the Hinko Cave, Deurali and Machapuchare Base Camp, which is not really a base camp for climbing Mt Machapuchare is not permitted. It is completely surrounded by mountains so this area is known as the Annapurna Sanctuary. Two hours trek from Machapuchare Base Camp will take us to the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) at an altitude of 4,130 m. From there, we will get an unobstructed view of mountain scenery, which is very sensational.
Day 11Trek to Bamboo (2345 m) – takes about 6 hours.
After continuing our trek from Annapurna to Bamboo (2345 m) we will be passing through a forest filled with bamboo. We then will descend by an altitude of 1,700 m to the bank of Modi Khola to Bamboo at 2,345 m where there are some teahouse/lodges available to stay at. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
Day 12Trek to Jhinu (1,780 m) –takes about 5 hours.
The next morning, we will follow the path until Chomrong, from where it is a steep slope. We will pass Khuldighar, where you will discover sheep farm. The route will continue through rhododendron and bamboo fields. The path descends very steeply to Jhinu where we can bathe in the natural hot springs. Stay overnight at a Guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
Day 13Trek to Naya Pul - Drive to Pokhara - Tour of Barahi Temple and Fewa Lake
Then we will continue the trek towards Nayapul (1,010 m). From Jhinu Modi Khola at our right, the walk is considered as one of the most relaxing walks throughout the entire trek. On reaching Nayapul, we will drive our way back to Pokhara which will take around 5.5 hours. We will check you into the hotel and then after a while, we will make pitstop at Fewa Lake for our boating trip to Barahi Temple. Stay overnight at a Hotel. Breakfast and lunch are included.
Day 14Guided sightseeing in Pokhara.
After a warm breakfast, we will begin our day-long tour around the city known for its beautiful lakes. You will be accompanied by our professional city guide on a private tourist vehicle and visit the following sites: Bindhyabasini Temple, lying in the center of the religious bazaar is said to have been built in the late 18th century by King Prithvi Narayan Shah. The temple is dedicated to the Goddess Bhagwati, the protector of Pokhara. Davis Fall, a tremendous waterfall in Pokhara is surrounded by flora. It is different from the other falls due to its natural phenomenon. The waterfall is locally known as Patale Chhango. It is widely popular among tourists as well as locals. Gupteshwor Cave, located 2 km from the Pokhara airport is right across from Davis fall and the cave is almost 3 km long. It has some enormous sized rooms and some passages where you have to crawl on all four. Most of the Hindus have great faith and religiously give importance to this cave since a phallic symbol of Lord Shiva is preserved here in the condition it was discovered. Seti River Gorges, carved by the Seti Gandaki River is one of the natural wonders of Pokhara. Mahendrapool, Prithivi Highway Bridge near bus park, and K.I. Singh bridge at Bagar provide a perfect view of the river’s dreadful rush and the deep gorge made by the turbulent flow of white water. Camps of Tibetan Refugee - In the south, Tibetan village Tashiling and in the north, the Tashi Palkhel village in Pokhara are renowned for the production and trade of woolen carpets and other handicrafts. In the ‘50s, the original Tibetan settlers were migrated to Nepal. A Buddhist pagoda-style monument renowned as World Peace Pagoda is other beauty of attraction in Pokhara. It is also known as Pokhara Shanti Stupa, is. It is the shrine built as a symbol of peace. It is located at the height of 2,100 meters on the Ananda Hill. Out of eighty peace pagoda in the world, Nepal has two of them named as Shanti Stupa i.e. one in Lumbini; the birthplace of Buddha, and in Pokhara. It also provides a panoramic view of the Annapurna range, Pokhara city, and Fewa Lake. Stay overnight at a hotel. Breakfast will be included.
Day 15Return to Kathmandu- 7 hours
After breakfast, we will return to Kathmandu, via a tourist bus which will take around 7 hours. In the evening, a farewell dinner in a traditional Nepalese restaurant will be organized with cultural performances. Stay overnight at the hotel. Breakfast and dinner are included. If you wish to extend the trip and have some more time to spare, there are several options like adventure sports and other activities.
Day 16Transfer to the Airport
We will provide you with the morning breakfast. Lastly, our representative will escort you to the International airport a few hours before the scheduled flight. Breakfast will be provided.
