Description

Everest Base Camp Trek proposes the ultimate challenge for trekkers and adventurers. It is filled with striking mountain panoramas and fascinating Sherpa settlements, the trail continues up the Dudh Koshi Valley to Namche Bazaar and Kala Patthar (5555m) which is the highest point of the trek. A lot like a walk on the wild side. If you looking for a challenging trek, this is one of the most exciting places in the world to do it.

This is a great basic lodge trek that will offer spectacular mountain scenes and a chance to ingest into the lives of the Sherpa people. After visiting the shrines, temples, and bazaars of Kathmandu, we will take an impressive mountain flight to Lukla and trek up the Dudh Koshi Valley, encircled by the soaring peaks of Thamserku and Kusum Kanguru. It will be a steep ascent to Namche Bazaar, the capital of the Khumbu Sherpas, where we will be again greeted by spectacular mountain vistas. A rest day here serves acclimatization and there are numerous optional walks to enjoy the area. We will then follow the path to Tengboche, located high on a ridge where a brilliant 360-degree panorama anticipates. The views of Everest, Lhotse-Nuptse Wall, Ama Dablam, and Kantega govern this serene and spiritual location which is surely one of the most tranquil and exhilarating places in the world.

While passing Buddhist monasteries, you will notice that the views of Everest get closer every day. This remarkable trek will take us on a visit Everest Base Camp (5,365 m), which is a premier goal for many adventurous walkers in the Himalayas, and Kala Patthar (5,555 m), a viewpoint acknowledged as the best vantage point to see Mount Everest. After trekking to Base Camp and Kala Patthar, we will return at a comfortable pace back to Namche and Lukla for our return flight to Kathmandu.

 

 

Day 1: Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport

Firstly, on arriving in Kathmandu, our representative will pick you up from the airport. He/She will be holding up the signboard outside the airport terminal. You will then be escorted to your hotel. You can visit our office to get more information about the trek. In case you happen to arrive after 4 pm, you will be briefed about the trip by our authorized guide. Please make sure to carry along your passport, 3 copies of passport-sized photos and a readable copy of your travel insurance policy. Also, make sure to clear any due balance and then sign on the legally binding trip form as well as the non-liability disclaimer form. You can stroll around the city in the evening. Stay overnight at the Hotel. No meals are included.

Day 2Tour around the valley

We will start our day with a satisfying breakfast and leave around 8.30 am on a private vehicle and an authorized tour guide at your company. We will visit the world heritage sites around the valley, some including Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a famous five-storey temple of Nyatapola in Pagoda style Batsala temple, Dattatreya temple, Bhairavnath temple, Pujari Muth and Palace of 55 windows. Pashupatinath Temple is the sacred temple located on the bank of the holy Bagmati river. Although one cannot enter the main temple unless they are Hindus, you can see the temple and observe the activities performed from the eastern Bagmati river. Boudhanath Stupa is the biggest and holiest stupa built in the 5th century. You will find Buddhists pilgrims from all over the world especially Tibet, taking rounds of the stupa and spinning the prayer wheels. Then we can go for further exploration around the Thamel and shop for the next day’s trekking gears Stay overnight at the hotel. Breakfast included.

Day 3Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

An early morning start with a warm breakfast takes us to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu for the 35-minute scenic flight to Tenzing and Hillary Airport at Lukla (2,804 m). On arriving at the airport, the guide will brief you and introduce our porters before we begin our trek towards Phakding (2,610 m). After landing we will have time to explore the village while our Sherpa crew sort and load our trekking equipment. Then we will begin our trek by gravitating towards the Dudh Kosi River where we will join the main trail to Namche Bazaar, located just over Chaunrikharka (2,713 m). The trail is easy. After passing by the small village of Ghat (2,550 m), it is a brief walk to Phakding. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 4Trek to Namche Bazaar

We will recommence trekking along the banks of the Dudh Kosi, and cross this majestic river many times on thrilling suspension bridges weighted with prayer flags. After accessing the Sagarmatha National Park, the trail escalates steeply with awe-inspiring views. Namche Bazaar, also known as the Gateway to Everest, is a dwelling to numerous quality restaurants, hotels, lodges, shops, money exchanges, Internet cafes, and bakeries. Namche is the most populous village along the entire Everest trail. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 5Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar

We will spend a day in Namche Bazaar to adjust to the thinning air and get acclimatized to the weather conditions. We will hike a short distance to a museum that is glorified for its displays of the folkloric customs of the Sherpa people. We will also hike up the Syangboche Airport near the Everest View Hotel. From this point, we can see gratifying views of the Himalayas with breathtaking sunrise and sunset over the prospect of Khumbu peaks. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 6Trek to Tengboche

The trek will extend along the running glacial waters of the Dudh Kosi with glittering views of the mountains. By then, we will have trekked to an elevation of 3,860 m upon reaching Tengboche. Inside the monastery are astonishingly embellished wall hangings, a 20-foot sculpture of Buddha, and the musical instruments and robes of the Lamas. The group will be taken to observe a prayer ceremony either in the evening or in the morning depending on how the trekking goes on this day. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 7Trek to Dingboche

We will begin walking to Dingboche after a warm meal. From Tengboche, the path drops to Debuche crossing another thrilling suspension bridge on the Imja Khola and climbs to Pangboche amongst thousands of mani stones. Our uphill trek will continue, taking us to the quaint traditional Sherpa village of Dingboche with its impeccable views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam. We will take our time to rest, so we can avoid getting affected by the altitude. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 8Acclimatization Hike to Nangkartshang Peak

This day is planned as an acclimatization day. We will not be making any progress towards Everest Base Camp. Rather, we will take a hike to the Nangkartshang peak just over Dingboche. The peak is an extraordinary viewpoint. Particularly of the gorgeous Ama Dablam. If the weather is clear, we will get to behold Ama Dablam from its summit to its feet. You can spend the afternoon strolling around the village familiarizing with the locals around or resting. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 9Trek to Lobuche

Today, the trail will stretch along the sidelong moraine of the Khumbu Glacier and pass by stone memorials for climbers who have perished on nearby summits. We will continue to climb as we head to the village of Lobuche which is located at the foot of the enormous Lobuche peak. Some breathing difficulties may arise today due to the altitude. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 10Trek to Everest Base Camp and then back to Gorak Shep

This is will be a long and challenging day walking along the Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base Camp at 5,365 m, the closest you will get to Mt. Everest without mountaineering equipment. During spring, there will likely be expedition teams about to strive for the summit. The appearance of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp is sensational. We will return back to Gorak Shep for the night. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 11Morning Hike Up to Kala Patthar & Descend to Pheriche

This will be one of the most stressful yet satisfying days of the trek. Most of the morning will be spent climbing Mt. Kala Patthar, a small peak at an altitude of 5,555 m. The ascension is demanding but the climber will get a magnanimous mountain panorama: Everest, the highest point on the planet at 8,848 m, pillars directly ahead and on all sides approach the giants such as Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse and innumerable others. We will make an instantaneous descent to Gorak Shep and have a warm satisfying breakfast, and then trek down to Pheriche. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 12Trek to Namche Bazaar

Early morning breakfast and then we will leave the mountains behind us. Our path will take us through Pangboche and Tengboche before advancing to the town of Namche Bazaar. We will arrive back to Namche in the afternoon. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 13Trek to Lukla

Initially, we will step down the last part which we ascended so hard on the day when we reached Namche Bazaar on the way up. Next, it is an easy stride to Phakding where we will be having our lunch. From this point, the trail slowly climbs towards Lukla. It is the gateway to Everest for those who choose to take flights. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 14Morning Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu

Enjoying the last glimpse of the mountains we have recently visited, the 35 minutes scenic flight will take us back to Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred back to your starting hotel. Stay overnight at a hotel. Breakfast is included. Day 15Leisure Day and Farewell Dinner in Kathmandu

After an exhausting trek, this will be a relaxing day for you. Get your body massaged, leisurely gallivant around Thamel and buy souvenirs, visit Garden of Dreams for some relaxing time. This is also a spare day to use for a flight back to Kathmandu in case there wasn’t a flight the day before due to unpredictable weather conditions.And, in the evening we will host farewell dinner in a traditional Nepalese restaurant with cultural performances to make this day a memorable one for you. Stay overnight at a hotel. Breakfast and dinner are included.

Day 16Transfer to the Airport

We will provide you with the morning breakfast. Lastly, our representative will escort you to the International airport a few hours before the scheduled flight. Breakfast is included.
