This excellent classic Everest base camp trek, which chases the footsteps of the most advanced climbers and trekkers, does not have the internal flights. It is an ideal fit for those who want to dodge the famous Lukla flights. Since no flights are involved and a jeep drive is taken, we do not have to bother about the sudden bad weather which usually hinders the Lukla flights. As we start the trek from lower altitude we will have many days before we reach the Everest Base Camp, this trek will be almost guaranteed from the acclimatization viewpoint.
We will start the trip from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, in a jeep that goes through various highways and the last one being the Everest Highway which joins to Chaurikharka village, just a little ahead of Lukla. Our first stop will be at Salleri. From here, we will take a drive into a dirt road until Nunthala; and from this point, we will start our trek to Everest. In this multi-day famous Everest base camp trek, we will pass through Namche Bazaar (the Sherpa capital), Tengboche Monastery (the largest in the region), Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorakshep and finally reach Everest Base Camp. This is the closest we will get to Mt Everest without mountaineering supplies. There is an elective hike to Kala Patthar, the highest apex of the trek. And then it is a descending trek all the way to Nunthala and a long journey back to Kathmandu.
